Important to create safe and protective environment for girls said Piggy Chops

New Delhi: Even as the Capital city of Delhi witnessess anger on the streets following the rape of a five-year old girl, Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra feels ”it is important for us as a society to create a safe and protective environment for them”.

Priyanka, who is the goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, said this while speaking at an art auction organised by Osian this weekend to raise funds for adolescent girls. Essaying the voice of a young girl, Priyanka conceptualised a cameo performance at the event that was an evocative fusion of poetry and music, a beautiful and moving way of interpreting the adolescent girl and her cause.

UNICEF officials said the auction, which is the first charity auction for UNICEF India, has been a huge success. They said Priyanka will continue to be involved with raising funds for adolescent girls.
